Over 2000 public school students and educators had “recess” at the Rutgers University Women’s Basketball game on Nov. 15. During the first quarter, 2024-25 NJ County Teachers and ESPs of the Year were honored on center court.
Students cheered on the Scarlet Knights as they took on Iona University. Asencion Reyes, the Middlesex County ESP of the Year, was chosen to reward the most spirited student with a wide screen TV. Alejandro Mejía, Union County teacher of the year, was excited when one of his students won the TV. “The students had to earn their spot on this field trip and I’m proud to say she’s one of my high achievers and this reward is well-deserved” said Mejía.
