Union County educator Jennifer Barbera, from the Clark School District, was awarded a $5,000 grant to provide monthly activities led by a licensed art therapist and supported by other educators at the school. The goal of the project is to provide opportunities for diverse learners to express themselves through art projects, which helps to support their mental health and builds self-esteem. “As a special education teacher, giving students the opportunity to express themselves in another way than language is important and is something that I am really passionate about and excited to explore this year!” – J. Barbera
