On Sept. 22, the Riverton Education Association (REA) hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony to kick off their new Little Free Library at Riverton Public School.
The Little Free Library was built by a retired NJEA member, Michael Sutcliffe. Michael’s wife is a kindergarten teacher at Riverton School.
The funds to build this came from a $500 Read Across America grant.
BCEA President Anthony Rizzo helped the REA by donating many books that will be housed in the little free library.
NJEA Vice President Steve Beatty attended the event, alongside the mayor of Riverton, Suzanne Wells and invited parents.
Students recited a poem and sang a song about reading. Students were invited to bring books to trade for a new one from our Little Free Library.
