Morris County educators Amanda Miranda and Sue Ort, from the Washington Township School District, were awarded a $9,300 continuation grant to expand their program. This project brings general education students, students with preschool disabilities, students with autism, and students with severe language and learning disabilities together to interact with their peers as they visit working farms in the community. Students will learn how to care for animals as well as animals’ purposes. Students will learn responsibility, character, work ethic and the interdependence of life by taking the fiber from alpacas to spin and knit scarves for the homeless.
