Honesty in Education

Public education in America faces a well-funded and highly-organized effort to undermine faith in our ability to provide a complete and well-rounded education for every student. Understanding the way in which these organizations and individuals behind this effort are actively spreading deliberately false information about our members and our schools is vital to our ability to fight back and prevent them from achieving their goal of gutting public schools.

Some of the most common attacks we are tracking from these billionaire-backed special interests include:

  • Attempts to ban books
  • Censorship or manipulation of curriculum
  • Harassing educators for following the law
  • Tricking union members into dropping their union membership
  • Policy changes to expand voucher programs

Despite these attempts to drive a wedge between parents and public schools, the reality is that most people have a favorable opinion of their public schools and the educators that serve their children every day. The best way to insulate our profession against these attacks is to stay informed and speak out. Use the resources below to take action.
