Who We Are

NJEA has a proud, historical record of achievement in promoting, protecting and organizing the careers and interests of educational support professionals. Understanding Privatization

Privatization (commonly known as outsourcing) is now considered the leading cause of ESP job loss. Privatization occurs when school districts do not understand the value of their ESP employees and hire outside companies to bring in cheap labor to perform the same services.
Many communities—and boards of education—are unfamiliar with the dangers of privatization and the unintended consequences of bringing strangers in to our schools. NJEA has created many tools to help members and local associations educate others and combat this growing trend.
