Are you a woman who’s interested in running for office? The Center for American Women in Politics (CAWP) has the program just for you!
Ready to Run, Campaign Training for Women, is a bipartisan program for women who want to run for office, work on campaigns, get appointed to office, or learn more about the political system. This year, the program will be offered March 15 -16. It is held at the Douglass Student Center in New Brunswick. You can read more about the program at the Ready to Run website.
NJEA has limited scholarships for members who are interested in attending the program. The NJEA scholarship pays for the conference registration and double-occupancy hotel accommodations Friday evening near the conference. (Single rooms are available for a charge.) In addition, NJEA will provide dinner for those attending the program at the conclusion of the conference on Friday evening.
The program begins at 4:00 Friday afternoon. Diversity initiative programs for women of color start at noon, for those who are eligible and can take the time off. Members who cannot arrive on time at 4:00 are welcome to attend and should arrive as soon as they are able to do so. The conference concludes at 5:15 p.m. on Saturday.
