Morris County educators Susan Ort, Jennifer Karpi, Amanda Miranda, Kristen Spano and Kellianne Zuzuro, from the Washington Township School District, were awarded a $7,960 grant to carry out a project to engage approximately 150 students in grades PreK-5 as they will take bi-monthly trips to visit a local working farm to help them with their social-emotional learning, work more collaboratively with their classmates, and build critical skills such as self-esteem, empathy, emotional regulation, and responsibility. In addition, they will learn the importance of animals, plants, and nature, not just for our survival, but also our emotional well-being.
