Thanks to generous donations from Brucato Foot & Ankle Surgery and Optical Academy, the New Jersey Aspiring Educators Association (NJAEA) members gathered at The College of New Jersey to stuff backpacks for students.
The event, held on Oct. 3, was led by NJEA Preservice President Chelsea Berwick and Vice President Matthew Yuro. Yuro is the president of the Student New Jersey Education Association (SNJEA), a local chapter of NJAEA at TCNJ, and Berwick is the vice president of SNJEA.
The NJAEA stuffed more than 100 backpacks which were donated to Fisher Middle School through a Wash and Learn Book Bag Giveaway.
The remainder of backpacks and supplies were donated to the Trenton Community Schools through the Princeton Community Church, Ben Franklin Elementary School in Lawrence, and all of the schools in Ewing Township.
