NJREA retiree Aetna / Horizon health benefits can be deleted or drastically reduced with just one stroke of a pen. The benefits are a line item in the governor’s budget each year. It is entirely possible that one of the legislators could propose to decrease the state’s budget by eliminating health insurance for retirees. If we don’t have a governor who stands beside us to veto such an action, our benefits will vanish.
