Description:  The School for Global Education & Innovation (SGEI) at Kean University recently launched four new professional development programs offered from September 2012 through August 2013:

The Kean Institute for the Common Core provides a variety of onsite and virtual professional learning experiences targeting specific grade levels and/or grade bands to support successful implementation of the standards and student achievement that include free Google Hangouts and the opportunity for continued online dialog with session presenters and participants using social networking.

Get Going with Google Workshops feature Lisa Thumann, a Google Apps for Education Certified Teacher, who has presented at 10 different Google Teacher Academies. The School for Global Education is now a Google Apps for Education Certified Trainer Organization and a state resource for Google apps training needs.

The iPad Workshops Program offers a range of iPad workshops for novice to expert users teaching at the elementary, middle school and high school levels across content areas.  All workshops are hands-on and focus on strategies for immediate and successful application in the classroom.

The SGEI Conference Series  includes the Common Core and Curriculum Mapping Conference with Heidi Hayes-Jacobs on March 13, 2013, and a Google Apps Summit on March 14 and 15, 2013. For a complete listing of conferences, visit Registration is available online at
