Achievement in AcademicsThe Achievement in Academics program is designed for students K-6 to engage in reading throughout the academic year. The program consists of three activities.

Stick With It

Students must read 20 minutes per day, five days per week. Parents or guardians must sign their child’s reading log before submitting to their teacher at the end of each month.

Classrooms participating will receive a welcome kit with a bookmark for every student. Participating students will receive a certificate in March good for two complimentary tickets to a New Jersey Devils game. The school with the highest rate of participation and minutes read will receive a visit from team mascot N.J. Devil, the Devils Dancers and alumni.

V.I.T. (Very Important Teacher)

Teachers and school administrators can nominate a fellow teacher along with their class for completing a goal. The winning teacher will receive two complimentary tickets to a Devils game and classroom recognition in an upcoming Devils game.

Study for Seats

Teachers may reward students for being a positive influence in the classroom, demonstrate goal setting and teamwork skills and/or improve one full letter grade on their report card (C or better). Teachers will be provided with certificates that will be given to students valid for two tickets along with the ability to purchase additional tickets at a special rate to a Devils home game.
