Preventing childhood obesity and improving community health

Teachers, school nurses, dieticians, policy makers and parents are invited to attend Building Healthy Communities on Wednesday, Dec. 4 at the Pines Manor in Edison. The conference will focus on preventing childhood obesity, reducing chronic diseases and creating healthy communities by using effective community prevention strategies, as well as implementing policy and environmental changes that have a lasting impact.

The one-day conference is sponsored by the NJ Partnership for Healthy Kids, NJ YMCA State Alliance, ShapingNJ (NJDOH), Family & Community Health Services at Rutgers, and the NJ Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
