Ben RevereThe first day of school is always an exciting day, but it is even more exciting when Phillies outfielder Ben Revere and the Phillies Phanatic appear at your school.

Students at Horace Mann Elementary in Cherry Hill enjoyed a lunch time surprise on Tuesday, Sept. 3. Ben Revere growth charts decorated the cafeteria and Phillies ambassador Scott Palmer helped students measure how much they grew over the summer. When the students started a Phillies chant, Ben Revere appeared from behind the stage curtain. He encouraged students to eat healthy foods, exercise, study, and listen to mom & dad. He was joined by the Phanatic who led students, teachers, and ESP members in the YMCA dance.

The Phillies Back to School event, which was sponsored by NJEA, provided each child a growth chart where they could track their growth from home. The growth charts were given to all fans 14 and under at the Sept. 8 Phillies game against the  Atlanta Braves.
