Get kids reading with summer reading programs

Published on Tuesday, June 12, 2012

booksChildren love a challenge but they like rewards even better! That’s why summer reading programs, sponsored by local and national businesses, are so great at motivating children to read as much as they can during the summer months. Not only are they reading, but in many cases they’re working towards earning a free book or financial rewards!

Here are a few summer reading programs for children that may help your child develop a lifelong love of learning. For more ideas, talk to your child’s teacher or visit your local library. For book suggestions, check out NJEA members’ favorite children’s books.
