NJEA member receives national award for excellence

Rachel Tonkovich, a teacher and NJEA member, was recently honored with the 2010 National Educator Award from the nationally-recognized Milken Family Foundation and the New Jersey Department of Education. Tonkovich received the $25,000 award at a surprise assembly at the Nellie F. Bennett Elementary School in Point Pleasant on Feb. 1.
