The Jefferson Awards is looking for volunteers who are interested in assisting with its K-12 programs. All of their programs center on civic responsibility and teaching New Jersey’s students to help make New Jersey the best it can be. The Jefferson Awards has several opportunities for motivated volunteer, including:
- Students in Action team coaches—Volunteers acting as coaches/liaisons for middle and high school teams doing community service projects through Jefferson Awards’ Students in Action program. These volunteers would be responsible for regularly checking in with the team they mentor to ensure they are making steady progress with their service projects and competition materials. The coach will also check in with the Executive Director on the team’s progress.
- Program Assistants—Volunteers interested in help to recruit new schools and assist in facilitating Jefferson Awards’ writing programs and contests as well as the Students in Action workshops.
- Judges—All of the Jefferson Awards’ programs have a writing component. Volunteers are needed to help score the projects and select the best of the best.
If you are interested in one or more of these opportunities, email Executive Director Heather Tedesco at firstname.lastname@example.org
