Permits a child who moves out of a school district due to a family crisis to remain enrolled in that district until the end of the school year.
NJEA supports A-735 (Eustace). This legislation would permit a child who moves out of the school district due to a family crisis, such as domestic violence or child abuse, to remain in that district until the end of the school year.
NJEA supports this legislation because it provides a measure of stability for a child whose life may otherwise be in turmoil. Additional stability provided by being in a familiar and supportive environment may also have a positive effect on the academic performance of these children.
NJEA urges you to support this bill.
