Help when it matters most
When Superstorm Sandy hit, no one counted on the widespread damage and devastation she would bring. However, in this time of crisis, the one thing communities could count on was their school's education support professionals (ESP). In communities across the state, public school custodians, cafeteria workers, security guards, classroom aides, and secretaries--many of whom lived in the community also-- worked tirelessly to set up school shelters, provide meals, collect food and clothing donations, and restore order. For these valuable members of the school team, the reason was simple: when there's a call for help, that's what they do...they come help.
